Session 5: Learning from the first land stewards: Exploring Traditional Ecological Knowledge

Session Description: This session will focus on resilience strategies informed by indigenous land management practices, with an emphasis on cultural burning and other traditional ecological knowledge to enhance climate resilience.


Session Objectives:

  1. Participants gain knowledge of local indigenous history, culture, and connection to land

  2. Participants are introduced to Traditional Ecological Knowledge

  3. Participants come away with tools and knowledge necessary to honor and incorporate indigenous communities/ knowledge/ history
